In 1926 Waverley Hills Sanatorium opened its doors as America’s most advanced tuberculosis hospital.
The only issue? All treatments were experimental. Patients were subject to a whole host of grizzly procedures to try and better find a cure for the disease, and the main reason they were kept in this hospital wasn’t even to find said cure - it was to isolate the sick from the general population.
